Renée Bess
Writer, educator
About
Renée is a retired World Language teacher. During her thirty-three years in the classroom, she taught in two high schools in Philadelphia, PA. She remains fascinated with how people learn, and with strategies that maximize learning.
Following her retirement and a first-place win in a short fiction contest, Renée began writing in earnest. She has written five novels and a collection of short stories, poems, and opinion pieces. Along with well-known author, Lee Lynch, Renée co-edited an award-winning anthology, Our Happy Hours, LGBT Voices from the Gay Bars.
Currently Renée writes a blog, The Wide Window, and she appreciates the lack of outside pressure when it comes to writing and posting her blogs here on Word Press. “It’s so much less stressful than writing a daily lesson plan. “
